Yes. STEPS is designed for Australian schools nationally. Any school in any state or territory can register. Schools within partner systems access STEPS as part of their system licence; all other schools can register directly.
Particularly, yes. Smaller and rural schools often have the greatest need for specialist disability training and the fewest alternatives. STEPS gives your whole team — whether 5 staff or 50 — access to the same specialist content larger schools use, for a single subscription.
When schools assign training through the leadership dashboard with clear expectations and some protected time, completion rates tend to be high. The self-paced format means staff fit modules around their week rather than needing a dedicated session.
STEPS can complement whatever provision your school already has. It offers structured, progressive training across 8 specialist areas in one coordinated platform — autism, ADHD, dyslexia, behaviour, speech and language, dyspraxia, hearing loss, and vision impairment — with whole-staff access and centralised tracking through the leadership dashboard.
Module 1 is awareness, designed for whole-staff completion. Modules 2 and 3 go considerably deeper — assessment tools, practical adjustment strategies, and whole-school approaches. Your learning support coordinator and specialist staff will find substantive content.
STEPS courses are designed to apply across Australian school contexts, including remote and regional settings, and support schools in adapting strategies to their own community. The training recognises that inclusive education intersects with cultural identity and language.
Nothing — unless you choose to upgrade. The free course has no time limit, no auto-subscription, and no payment details are required. You decide if and when to move to full access.
